Where did you see it? It usually means home screen, or the middle softkey (home button).

These icons are provided by the system. You cannot create a FB icon.

Whenever I leave wifi i have an "H" where wifi would be. Do you know what it means?
H means HSPA. The icon indicates you are connecting to a HSPA 3G network. In some regions, it is called 3.5G because it is faster than normal 3G.
Of course, it is slower than HSPA+ (still 3G) or 4G LTE.

It means moto x thinks the internet connection is not stable or not available. But the phone can be wrong sometimes.
What does that lock screen icon mean? I have that on my Moto X 2014 on the top left corner of the status bar.

on the old Motorola a number square/flag appeared next to the Icon to let me know i had a notification. Does the Moto X have this option?
No, the Google now launcher doesn't offer the number badge for notifications.

It could be due to mobile network. Did you try to reboot the phone to see whether it helps?

Is there any way to display the battery percentage on the notification bar through Andriod settings on Moto X, or do you have to install an extra app for this?
The default Google Now launcher only show a battery icon in status bar. But when you swipe down twice, it should change to icon and number. Also in quick settings, a number is also shown.
Anyway, if you need the number on status bar all the time, you may try other launchers.
Some apps can also show battery percentage in left side of the status bar or as notification. But it's not recommemded.
Which Launcher and badge counter apps work best with my X Pure Edition? One that is somewhat similar to the google now launcher. I don't want to pay money only to find out the counters work on SOME of the apps.
You need not only a third-party launcher, but also some apps for it. I only Nova launcher (not the free one) with some apps can add number badge. You can search for number badge in Google play. Just do NOT use CM launcher or any CM apps.
